Trusting God's Purpose for our Life

Trusting God's Purpose for us

Do you trust God to lead you into living out the purpose for which he created you? Many of us go about our life, our studies, our jobs, without seeking guidance from God. We only turn to God when we realize how unhappy we are in the situations we have put ourselves in.

Thankfully God has planned out our lives in such a way that even when we go astray he knows how to get us back on course. It is never too late to turn back to God. He will rebuild and restore us for His purpose. God created us with a plan and purpose. He created good works for us to do on this earth. He sees our needs but the world sees only our faults.

We need to walk in the spirit in order to complete the purpose for which God created us. We need the spirit of God to guide us into the right path for our lives. That takes faith in God - a belief and total trust in what we cannot see. Faith is believing God's promises, trusting in his faithfulness, and relying on God's character and faithfulness to act. We cannot see the end, but God already knows the end; He is the beginning and the end. Take that leap of faith. Put your life in the fathers hands. He knows what is best for you. He can lead you to live a life full of purpose.

"Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps." (Proverbs 16:3,9)

Purpose for Life

Faith for Purpose

Faith without action is dead. Faith is never passive. It demands a response; a step of faith. Faith looks ahead trusting in what God has promised, then taking steps towards were God is directing us, towards our purpose for life.

Faith is only as good as the object in which we place it. Faith in the system does not work if the system is faulty. Faith in your own ability will only get you so far. Choose to believe in God, the creator who has power over all created things.  If You chose God, You will begin to live in the purpose for which He made You.

Faith not Feelings

When you are a new Christian, God sends you a lot of affirming emotions and frequently answers your most immature, self-centered requests only to let you know he exists. However, as your faith grows and you begin to mature in faith, he will wean you from these dependence. God wants you to feel his presence, but more importantly, he wants you to trust him. He wants you to trust in his plan and purpose for your life. God is pleased by faith, not feelings. Never go by your feelings, trust in His word and His character to act on your behalf. God is constantly present, even when you aren't aware of it, and his presence is far too vast to be judged solely by emotion.

Testing of our Faith

Our faith in God is strengthened by the tests and trials that we encounter in our daily life. God doesn't protect us from problems; he pulls us through the problem in such a way that we can only acknowledge his hand in it. The end result becomes more faith in him, less worry and less anxiety. We rest in Him because we know who controls and directs our life into the purpose for which He created us. Faith is like the roots of a tree. The deeper the roots, the stronger the tree. Deep roots are achieved when water is scarce and the tree has to develop deep roots in order to reach underground water. Likewise scarcity and adversity deepen our faith in God.

When life breaks apart and God is nowhere to be seen, that is when your faith will be tested the most. In the Bible, Job experienced this. He lost everything in a single day: his family, his business, his health, and everything he possessed. Then, for the next 37 chapters, God said nothing!

How do you praise God when you don’t understand what’s happening in your life and God is silent? How do you stay connected in a crisis without communication? How do you keep your eyes on Jesus when they’re full of tears? You do what Job did: “Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: "Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised" (Job 1:20b-21)

Tell God exactly how you feel. Pour out your heart to him. God can handle your doubt, anger, fear, grief, confusion, and questions. Adversity should draw you closer to God.  Do not let adversity rip you from your creator.  Everything that happens in our life has a purpose; to help us eventually win the race of life. He turns what was meant for evil against us, to good, to bring to pass His perfect plan for us.  His will prevails.

Achieving Your Purpose for Life

There is a path marked out for each of us, a purpose for our lives, but how do we keep ourselves running on the right path? "Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith" (Hebrews 12:2). Put your faith in God and not in earthly things that are temporary; God never changes! When you trust in the Lord, you are secure.

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up." (Hebrews 12:1-3)

"The righteous shall live by faith" (Hebrews 10:38)

"You will keep the mind that is dependent on you in perfect peace, for it is trusting in you." (Isaiah 26:3)

Do we only love God when he does good things or do we love him in hardship too?
