Is Homosexuality a Sin?

Image
Homosexuality When you search the question 'Is Homosexuality a Sin?' on Google, the first page contains answers that say homosexuality is not a sin. So, what does the Bible say about homosexuality? In the book of Romans, Paul wrote about God's Anger at Sin. In the first chapter and the eighteenth verse, he writes: " But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness." Romans 1:18 He was referring to people who knew the truth about God but chose to worship man-made idols rather than the true living God. These people made the decision to make themselves a law unto themselves. As a result, God left them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they committed heinous and degrading acts on each other's bodies. In the following verses, Paul goes on to describe the heinous things they did with each other's bodies: Romans 1:26–27 "That is why God abandoned them to their sha

Bible Verses to help overcome worldly addictions

ADDICTION As long as we live on earth, there will always be an attraction to the things of this word. Due to the fact that we live in a corrupt world that despises godliness, we must remain vigilant and persistent in our prayers for all believers everywhere. As believers we are called to pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion so as not to fall into temptation as a result of our sinful nature. "Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere." Ephesians 6:18 Believers may battle with a variety of addictions, including those to food, social media, drugs, alcohol, pornography, and sex, to name a few. Through the power of his spirit, Christ has freed us from the yoke of our materialistic cravings. Here are a few scriptures that can help us fight addiction. 1 Corinthians 6:12 "You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed t

Inner Strength for every situation

Image
Inner Strength in every situation We will all experience some form of suffering in this life. The hope for Christians is that we will be helped and strengthened to survive by the Holy Spirit. For those who are in Christ, heartache, suffering, and even death are all temporary. "In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation." ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:10 God promises to restore us, support us and strengthen us. "I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength." Philippians 4:12-13  The verses above were written by Paul in reference to his time in prison for preaching the word of God. God provided him the resilience an

Trusting God in difficult times

Image
Why we should always trust God There will be times of difficulty in life that will put our trust and faith in God to the test. The book of Exodus looks at the children of Israel's failure to trust God when He led them into the wilderness. The children of Israel had witnessed God's amazing deliverance from Egypt.  They'd seen God's tremendous plagues and the Red Sea dividing.  They had seen the entire Egyptian army drown in the Red Sea while pursuing the Israelites.  They were eyewitnesses to God's mighty hand.  God had freed them from Egypt and was now leading them into a desert without water.  You'd think they'd trust Him after witnessing His power and unwavering loyalty in releasing them from captivity. But no!  Instead of trusting their mighty father, the Israelites grumbled and sighed.  The following is a description of what happened while they were in the wilderness at a place called Rephidim, where there was no water. Water from the Rock At the Lord’s

The Peace of God

Image
The Peace of God Jesus is known as the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). By His mere presence in our lives, He bestows peace on His people. His will for us is that we live in His peace, free from the worries and cares of this world. God has promised that He will never leave us or forsake us. So that when we face adversity, we can lean on Him and receive His peace, which will keep us strong and secure through hardships. "I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid." John 14:27 Everyone will face difficulties at some point in their lives. But as God's children, we have a mighty warrior on our side who walks alongside us, fights our battles, and comforts us. We are held together not by our own strength, but by His. As a result, difficulties should not deter us from our goal of living in His will. Hardships should strengthen our faith, causing us to become firmly rooted as we trust in H

God desires a Pure Heart not outward spirituality

The Mystery of Salvation Have you ever wondered at the mystery of salvation? The bible says that when we are born again, the old is gone and the new is here.  "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"  2 Corinthians 5:17  Transformed by the Spirit of God God uses the extraordinary power of His Holy Spirit to change our hearts and attitudes, transforming us from the inside out. When He starts to live in us, we are regenerated. He starts instructing and directing us according to his truth and His ways. And we naturally start to have desires for things that are in line with His will. That is God's power operating within us. "No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God."  1 John 3:9 God gives us a heart willing to follow his ways. He takes away or heart of stone, and replaces it with a heart of flesh. "I

Bible verses about gossip

Image
GOSSIP Gossip is one of those things that we can easily justify, especially when we have been hurt, and sometimes it is just out of our hidden hatred and malice for others. Gossip can take many forms, including venting, sharing opinions, seeking advice, and feigning concern. A gossip spreads confidential information around. They are untrustworthy. The Bible is unequivocal about the dangers of not having control over your mouth and what you say. The words we use have tremendous power to both build up and tear down. Gossip is poisonous.  There are two fundamental truths about gossip: Those that gossip to you will also gossip about you. And being the recipient of gossip makes you part of the problem.  Malicious talk or gossip is mentioned in the Bible, alongside sins such as murder and envy. The bible clearly condemns the sin of gossip. Are your words destroying or bringing life to others? Remember what 1st John 3 verse 6 says: " No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who c

Just for today! 2023

Image
JUST FOR TODAY 1. I will nourish my Soul  "But Jesus told him, No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God." ( Matthew 4:4) In life we spend a lot of time thinking and planning what we will eat. Very little time is dedicated to feeding our souls, feeding our inner self with God's word, His truths. Let us not forget to nourish our soul. Just for today, I will nourish my soul with God's word. 2. I will live one day at a time "This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it."  ( Psalms 118:24) God wants us to live one day at a time. That is why in our Lord's prayer, He says "give us this day our daily bread". This is the day that the Lord has made! We must be present in the blessing of today. Tomorrow will have it own worries. God provides for us one day at a time. Live in the present, the past is gone, don't let it defeat you and the future is in God'

How to achieve Success in Life

Image
What is the world's definition of success in life? We go through life being told that in order to be considered a success in life, we are to work hard for a living and accumulate the comforts of life as well as achieve recognition. So we end up desiring material possessions of many types, including larger homes, better vehicles, pricey clothing and more as an indication of our success. When we get these things, we definitely experience a brief period of excitement, happiness and satisfaction, but this is soon followed by a sense of emptiness and discontentment with life.   There is a diminishing enjoyment in material things that sets us back onto the pursuit of new material things that can replace the old ones and hopefully give us joy. But the pattern is the same, we soon find ourselves feeling empty and unsatisfied with the new things. It is possible to be happy without stuff, but we can never be happy without God. If God is not first before all things in our lives, we will not k
